Brooke Sawyer - Special Volunteer
Bio:
In 2016, I graduated with a BA in music and psychology from University of Chicago, and then obtained an MA in Music Therapy from Lesley University in 2018. I participated as a research assistant at both institutions on a variety of qualitative and quantitative studies regarding music perception and music and anxiety. I researched with Dr. Stephen Van Hedger as an undergraduate, and Dr. Rebecca Zarate during my graduate studies. I am currently a clinical music therapist but plan to continue researching and exploring the intersection of neuroscience and music therapy in a graduate degree program in the future. Research Interests: I am interested in auditory perception and cognition, especially as it relates to music. I would like to study how music perception and cognition may correlate with various areas of perception and cognition in neurodiverse individuals in a future graduate program. Personal Interests: I am a Cubs fan and watch them in my free time, but do not always enjoy it! What I do enjoy is going on road trips to see new places with my husband, going on long walks with my dog, and the occasional reality tv show. |
